Why Better Pet Nutrition Matters for Indian Dogs
Pet parents in India increasingly want to take better care of their dogs, but giving them a genuinely balanced diet can be difficult. Home-prepared meals are made with care, yet they can sometimes miss essential nutrients needed for balanced nutrition. At the same time, pet parents looking for natural nutritional support often struggle to find products they can trust and easily incorporate into everyday routines. Concerns ranging from digestion and coat health to mobility and general wellbeing can make these choices even more important. Mubble emerged in response to this gap, with an approach built around functional nutrition and everyday wellness. For its founders, understanding that need began with their own experiences and perspectives.
Growing up in Mumbai shaped both founders in different but complementary ways. Dhruvin Kothari developed a strong sense of adaptability and resourcefulness in the city while holding on to the values of caring for others and giving back to the community. His academic path took him through a Master of Applied Finance at Monash University in Australia and a Master of Commerce in Risk Management at the University of New South Wales. Chandani Kothari, who also grew up in Mumbai, came from a business-oriented background where financial discipline and thoughtful decision-making were familiar early lessons. She later completed a Master’s in Finance at the University of Cincinnati. Those experiences would eventually influence how they approached building Mubble.
Leaving Finance Careers to Explore Pet Nutrition
Before Mubble, Dhruvin was working in investment banking in risk management and had developed an interest and experience in human nutrition. Chandani was also working in investment banking when the two began exploring the opportunity, and she continues to work in the industry while supporting Mubble outside her working hours. Their idea came from observing how much Indian pet parents cared for their dogs while also recognising a nutritional gap in many home-prepared meals. They wanted to offer support without forcing families to completely change how they fed their pets. Supplements offered a practical possibility: a simple addition to an existing meal that could improve nutritional value and palatability while addressing specific needs.
The first six months brought a challenge that was less about the product itself and more about awareness. Many Indian pet parents were still unfamiliar with the importance of balanced nutrition and the role appropriate supplementation could play. Questions about fussy eating, trying unfamiliar products and whether a supplement should be used without veterinary advice reflected a wider hesitation. The founders realised that creating a strong product was only one part of building a pet wellness brand; earning trust required patience and education. Mubble therefore focused on explaining nutrition, supplementation and everyday wellness while encouraging informed decisions and veterinary consultation where appropriate. That effort gradually began opening doors to a different kind of validation.
The first meaningful signs of traction came through the experiences of pet parents themselves. Customers began returning with positive feedback about changes they were seeing in their dogs’ digestion, coat and overall wellbeing, showing the founders that Mubble was becoming part of real daily routines. Veterinary validation added another layer of confidence. Some veterinarians who tried the products and samples were impressed with the formulations and eventually began stocking Mubble at their clinics. The company also started moving beyond direct-to-consumer conversations into veterinary and retail discussions, including pilot partnerships with veterinary clinics and pet-care businesses. For Dhruvin and Chandani, this early trust mattered because it reflected genuine belief in what they were building.
A Bigger Vision for Healthier, Happier Pets
The founders see Mubble as more than a supplement brand. Their long-term vision is to build a holistic pet wellness company that supports companion animals across different parts of everyday life. Functional nutrition and supplements are the starting point, but they see the opportunity eventually extending into toys, accessories and other thoughtfully designed products. At the heart of that vision is a desire to change how pet parents approach health — moving from reacting only when something goes wrong toward a more proactive and preventive mindset. The mission also extends beyond the products themselves through BeKind by Mubble, where a portion of revenue is directed toward animal welfare initiatives, connecting business growth with a broader sense of responsibility.
Patience, Trust and the Lessons Behind Mubble’s Journey
One of the clearest lessons from building Mubble has been that pet wellness depends as much on trust and education as it does on formulation. The founders learned that pet parents carefully examine ingredients, benefits, safety and suitability because they want to make responsible choices for their animals. They also discovered that rewarding moments do not always come from the biggest business milestones. A positive message from a pet parent, interest from a veterinarian or a clinic giving a young brand an opportunity can carry lasting significance. The journey has reinforced the value of patience, listening and staying close to the problem. As the founders put it,
“You don't need to have everything figured out. You just need to believe in the problem you're solving enough to take the next step.”
