Why Software Companies Struggle With Product Education
Every software company needs to explain its product clearly to customers, employees, and support teams. Yet creating product videos, documentation, and multilingual training content often involves several tools, multiple teams, and countless hours of manual work. By the time everything is ready, the product may have already changed, forcing the process to begin again. As software evolves faster, product education is falling behind. Zenious was built to solve this growing challenge. The idea, however, did not begin with technology. It began with years of living this problem firsthand through the career of founder Sagar Garuda.
Growing up in Hyderabad, Sagar Garuda was raised in a middle-class family that valued education, curiosity, and integrity. Throughout more than two decades, he worked across sales, customer support, quality assurance, documentation, and customer education. His journey through companies including Oracle, CA Technologies, Zenoti, and Darwinbox showed him how difficult it was to keep product education aligned with rapidly changing software. Leaving comfortable leadership roles wasn't an easy decision, but he believed the industry deserved a better solution, leading naturally to the next chapter of his journey.
Building a Solution From a Real Industry Problem
For over two decades, Sagar watched teams spend days creating product videos, updating documentation, and coordinating across departments after every software release. Even as AI transformed content creation, the available tools focused largely on marketing videos or isolated tasks rather than the accuracy and context that product education demands. Convinced that enterprise software teams needed a fundamentally different approach, he decided to build one.
To bring that vision to life, he partnered with Sandeep Choudri, who spent more than 17 years at Microsoft in engineering and technical leadership roles, leading the development of large-scale enterprise products, including Microsoft Excel for the web. Together, they combined Sagar's deep expertise in customer education and product documentation with Sandeep's experience building globally used software platforms to found Zenious. Their shared vision was simple: use AI to amplify the expertise of product teams, enabling organizations to create and continuously maintain accurate product videos and documentation at the speed modern software evolves.
Creating an AI product was only part of the challenge. As first-time founders building for enterprises, the team had to convince customers that a young startup could support mission-critical product education. They focused less on selling and more on listening, improving the product continuously, and solving real customer problems. That persistence paid off when enterprises began choosing Zenious over larger competitors because it fit naturally into existing workflows. Those early conversations became the foundation for something much bigger than the founders had initially imagined.
For Sagar, the biggest milestone wasn't revenue but earning the trust of the first paying customers. Many had already evaluated larger, well-funded products, yet they chose Zenious because it solved their everyday challenges more effectively. Tasks that once took three to five days could now be completed in just a few hours while maintaining accuracy. Those customers didn't just subscribe; they expanded Zenious within their organizations and recommended it to others. For first-time founders without a strong sales background, those testimonials became proof that they were building something meaningful.
The Support That Helped Zenious Keep Moving Forward
Starting Zenious meant leaving behind a stable career and investing personal savings into an uncertain future. Throughout that journey, Sagar's wife, Sumalata, remained his earliest supporter, encouraging him to take the leap while carrying the family's responsibilities. Like every startup, Zenious faced slow enterprise sales cycles and limited resources, but every customer demo that ended with genuine excitement reinforced the team's conviction. Those moments reminded them that solving a meaningful problem mattered more than chasing trends, preparing them for a much larger vision ahead.
A Vision Beyond Videos and Documentation
Zenious aims to become the platform teams rely on whenever they need to explain a product, whether through training, onboarding, documentation, or customer support. The goal is simple: record once and let the platform create every format and language required. Beyond building a successful company, Sagar hopes Zenious will demonstrate that India can create globally respected enterprise AI products solving real business problems. His advice to future founders reflects the philosophy behind the company:
Companies are built around problems, not ideas. If you find a problem worth dedicating a decade of your life to, the ideas will follow.
